1. About the App

Rail Journal is a document directory app created for Indian Railway employees. It provides access to frequently updated railway-related content, including:

• Latest safety circulars
• Rule of the Month circulars
• SOBs and Joint Procedure Orders (JPOs)
• Divisional Working Time Tables (WTTs)
• Railway station and siding details
• Wagon and coach information
• Important railway-related websites
• A railway terminology dictionary

All updates are managed by selected admin users.

2. User Authentication & Data Collection

Normal Users:

• Rail Journal uses anonymous login for standard usage.
• No personally identifiable information is collected from normal users.

Admins (Authorized Contributors):

• Admins are required to log in using their Google account.
• We collect:
  • Name
  • Email address
  • Profile photo
• This information is displayed publicly alongside uploaded documents to indicate who uploaded them.

3. Purpose of Data Collection

Admin data is collected only to:

• Authenticate and authorize document contributors
• Attribute documents to the correct uploader
• Maintain transparency for users accessing shared materials

We do not sell, share, or use any data for advertising or third-party analytics.

4. Notifications

Rail Journal may send push notifications to inform users of newly added or updated documents. Users can manage or disable these notifications through their device settings.

5. Data Security

All data is securely managed through Firebase Authentication and Firestore, following industry-standard best practices and access control policies to protect user data.
